Should I have really been surprised that the sushi I bought out of the refrigerated case at Costco tasted a little odd?
Yeah, probably not.
I thought I was being nice to The Boss Lady and buying something different for dinner.
And then I thought 'Hey, Mike...' because I like to be on a first name basis with myself...
Then I followed up with 'That sushi ought to make for a better lunch than pizza from the cafeteria at The Talker's school. I dare you to eat some!' And I dare not back down from a dare that I dare myself, right? So I ate.
Now, just in case I die from a funky fish parasite, tell my wife and kids not to eat the leftovers, OK?

Left over Sushi is like left over WINE...there shouldn't be any!!!
Great post. I look at the sushi at my local market all the time and think, "Just try it!" But I know better . . . .
I love sushi, however and am fortunate that our local fresh foods market makes it fresh right there in front of you (for a premium, mind you, but still cheaper than it would be at a restaurant).
Anyhow, the thought of bad sushi -- just the phrase "bad sushi" -- it makes your stomach turn.
Nope.. Can't do it...
Sushi... Wont past the lips of this big fella...
Now gimme some squirrel, rabbit, grouse, pheasant... (as long as it is cooked!)
While having an eerily similar internal monologue once, I bouht some pre-packaged sushi at Publix only to get it home and discover that it was at least a day old. There was a barely visible greasiness to each piece that only comes from it getting old...
Ugh! Makes me shudder every time I think of it!
